It was a pleasure to read the tributes to David from friends and colleagues, and I learnt so much more about the man who I encountered when directing his two solo plays about Sherlock Holmes. He was a delight to work with; enthusiastic, appreciative, full of invention and humour. A privilege to know and to work with.
