The first of a suite of Holmes dramas for the stage, Sherlock Holmes: The Last Act was first seen in a reading by actor Roger Llewellyn at a Sherlock Holmes weekend at Stonyhurst College, Arthur Conan Doyle's old school. Directed by Gareth Armstrong is premiered at Salisbury Playhouse in 1999 and was one of the top ten best new plays at the Edinburgh Fringe that year. It went on to tour the world and has recently been revived by actor Nigel Miles-Thomas.
